Petru Motac's journey in the construction industry began at the age of 15, working on construction sites alongside his father, a well-respected builder from a small village in the North-East of Romania.
Petru was inspired by his father and developed a deep passion for construction, setting the foundation for his future endeavours.
As a devoted father of ten, Petru Motac made the difficult decision of migrating to the United Kingdom in 1997, in pursuit of a better future for his family. Beginning his new life aborad, he fully immersed himself in London's construction scene, steadily gaining hands-on experience and refining his skills.
Even though the journey was challenging, it was deeply rewarding and driven by his desire to create greater opportunities for his children. This pivotal step not only marked a new chapter in his life but also laid the foundation for what would eventually become the family’s thriving business.
By 2005, without any funding but rather a soaring vision and a wealth of cumulated experience, Petru and his two oldest sons founded Motacus Construction. The company quickly gained recognition for its dedication and quality workmanship.
Motacus Construction expanded its operations by purchasing a new location for its Head Office. Petru also opened the Joinery and Steel departments, making this place their second home.
Motacus continued to grow, securing larger projects and serving higher wealth clients. By 2015, our turnover exceeded £5 million, and our team grew to over 50 workers.
Driven by his passion for construction, Petru led the company to new heights. Notably, Motacus completed a £4 million project of two retail units in just four months for TWG Tea.
2019 signifies the year that we opened our Builders Merchant and in the same year Motacus Constructions received the Considerate Constructors Silver Award.

In 2020, Motacus completed its first very own property development project, with the building being named in honour of the family name: Motac Court.
As we moved into 2021, our turnover hit over £10 million, and our team expanded to over 100 dedicated professionals.
Given the vast range of services that Motacus now provides, the company has become a Group of Companies serving the construction industry and beyond.
2025 signifies the year we launched our brand new logo and website that portrays what is now Motacus Group.
