Our History

Petru Motac's journey in the construction industry began at 15, working alongside his father, a well-respected builder, on construction sites in a small village in Romania.

Petru was inspired by his father to develop a deep passion for construction, setting the foundation for his future endeavours.

As a devoted father of ten, Petru Motac made the courageous decision to migrate to the United Kingdom in 1997 in pursuit of a better future for his family. Beginning his new life as a builder, he fully immersed himself in the construction industry, steadily gaining hands-on experience and refining his skills.

Even though the journey was challenging, it was deeply rewarding and driven by his desire to create greater opportunities for his children. This pivotal step not only marked a new chapter in his life but also laid the foundation for what would eventually become the family’s thriving business. 

By 2005, with experience and vision, Petru and two of his sons founded Motacus Construction. The company quickly gained recognition for its dedication and quality workmanship.

Motacus Construction expanded its operations by purchasing a new location for its Head Office. Petru also opened the Joinery and Steel departments, making this place their second home.

Motacus Construction continued to grow, securing larger projects and building residential houses for millionaires. By 2015, our turnover exceeded over £5 million, and our team grew to over 50 workers.

Driven by his passion for construction, Petru led the company to new heights. Notably, we completed a £4 million project in just four months for TGW Tea.

In 2019, we received the Considerate Constructors Silver Award and opened our Builders Merchant.

In 2020, we completed our first property development project, and in honour of that, we have been named by our surname: Motac Court.

As we moved into 2021, our turnover hit over £10 million, and our team expanded to over 100 dedicated professionals.

Today, Motacus Group has a full range of high-quality construction services. Our combination of construction, joinery, builders merchants, developments and plumbing & heating make Motacus a compelling player in the construction industry.
