Implementing Our Environmental Policy
To ensure our environmental policy is effective:
- We train site management and supervisors to understand the environmental implications of activities within their areas of responsibility.
- We provide training to heighten awareness of relevant environmental issues.
- On individual contracts, we aim to obtain the best advice from our clients concerning the contract's environmental aspects.
- We develop a detailed Waste Management Plan for each project, including an environmental impact assessment, waste reduction strategy and disposal controls.
How We Minimise Environmental Impact
During our work, we help reduce environmental impact by managing:
- Noise, vibration and dust – this helps prevent disruption to the surrounding area.
- Mud on highways and footpaths – doing this helps to ensure cleanliness and public safety.
- Effluent and waste disposal through the correct containment methods and fully licensed waste removal.
- Storage and use of mineral oils, fuels and paints to prevent contamination.
